The Kyiv Principality in the 14th – 15th Centuries: The Ukrainian Factor in European Security

The exhibition restores Ukraine’s princely history of the 14th – 15th centuries, revealing Kyiv’s role in European politics of the time. It tells how, after its destruction in 1240, the city regained its influence as part of a defensive system stretching from the Baltic to the Black Sea under the rule of the Gediminid, Olelkovich, and Golshansky dynasties. Through unique artifacts – ranging from documents of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, maps, and seals to knightly weapons and banners – visitors will witness the revival of the Kyiv Metropolis and the participation of our warriors in the decisive battles of the era.
