The history of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra began with them. The founders of Ukrainian culture rest in the caves: Nestor the Chronicler, Ilya Murovlianyn, doctor Agapit, and other Caves saints.

140 monuments from the 11th–20th centuries on 27 hectares: from the unique underground complexes of the Near and Far Caves to majestic above-ground temples, which have no analogues in the world.

73,000 objects — iconography, old prints, metalwork, precious fabrics, archaeological artifacts. One of the richest museum collections in the country.

Leading Ukrainian museum institutions operate on the territory: the Museum of Books and Printing, the Museum of Folk Decorative Art, the Museum of Theater and Cinema, and the Treasury of the National Museum of History of Ukraine.
